ABOUT THE ARTIST

Herman was born and raised in a farming community near Saskatoon.  His paintings and drawings reflect this background.  His subject matter is derived from his own photographs and sketches.  He travels during the summer to take photos and to do sketches and spends the winter months painting and drawing from his summer's work. 

His special interest is elevators and he has photographed towns with elevators for many years.  He prefers to paint specific identifiable places and has a reputation for having reference photos from almost every area of Saskatchewan.  A number of his paintings are hanging in homes and offices around the world. 

Herman has been painting for over 30 years and he hopes that you derive as much pleasure from his artwork as he has had in producing it.
